Default Learning Proffesion?

After some time away from guild wars ive decided to come back. Before my break I was just beginning to PvP with a ranger. I don't think this class suits me due to the fact that I couldn't figure out a decent way to cycle through enemies to rupt key skills. I am still very new to the PvP part of guild wars and would like to know if there is a class that is easier to use in PvP for a beginner. So what class or classes would you recommend for a new PvPer to break me in.

Necro or Ele, probably.
But really, you should just play whatever you enjoy. You might not be an awesome ranger now but practice makes perfect essentially, and there's no reason for you not to play ranger in RA or AB if you enjoy it, and learn the class. In high-end PVP you'll probably be asked to run some bitchrole.

If you want to learn how to play most casters, play a foul feast, corrupt enchants necro in RA and focus on your positioning and weapon swapping until you master those. Then when you move on to higher end PvP you just have to focus on profession-specific skills like watching the field (B surge, prot monk), snaring things (MoI), spamming heal party (flagger) etc

Elementalist is best for starters.

Elementalist (fire), if you screw up, stuff will still die or not die depending on how good the rest of your team is. If you do a good job, stuff will die faster. Also, no one will notice/care if you screw up.

start out with something like a water ele or necro that requires a lot of swapping between warriors and healers, then switch back to ranger (or whatever you enjoy) when you get the hang of weapon swapping and switching targets.

This. A curse necro (ala PvX Wiki) is one of the easier things to play with and will be very forgiving while you learn basics. Mind Blast is an alternative if you don't like necros or would rather blow things up.

Mind Blast is probably the easiest (effective) build in the game. I could literally close my eyes and mash 1-8 at random and tear things up with it. The template can be found here or at the link right above. Of course if you would like to improve yourself at this game, I suggest a something like a air or water ele. Practice keeping the melee shut down while throwing damage on your allies' targets. These shouldn't be too difficult to play, and all three are commonly sought after by teams in higher end pvp (GvG).
